Yuyu Zhou

Dr. Zhou's research interests lie in the applications of geospatial technologies including remote sensing, GIS, geovisualization, spatial analytic tools, and integrated assessment modeling to understanding the problems of environmental change and their potential solutions for a sustainable environment. Currently, she is working in research areas concerning Sustainability including:

Land cover/land use change (e.g. urbanization) across a variety of spatial and temporal scales

Energy supply (e.g. wind and hydropower) and demand (e.g. building)

High spatial and temporal greenhouse gas emissions

Water-energy nexus

Climate change and its impacts on energy, emissions, and carbon cycle

"Cities are microcosms of the evolutionary changes that are occurring on a planetary scale and thus provide a natural laboratory to advance our understanding of eco-evolutionary dynamics in a rapidly urbanizing world."
